Financials and tech stocks lead highs on Friday; Mixed economic data


In Friday’s session, 151 stocks traded at a 52 week high, while 34 stocks hit a new 52 week low. The S&P 500 is down 0.07% so far today while the Dow is down 0.01%, the Nasdaq is down 0.02% and the Russell 2000 is down 0 , 27%.

The markets were stable at the end of the session on Friday, with mixed economic data, with PCE prices in line with expectations with a rise of 0.3%. Meanwhile, personal income fell 1.0% in September, while analysts expected a smaller drop of 0.2%. Personal spending topped estimates for a 0.4% increase with a 0.6% increase reported last month. Amazon (AMZN) shares are down 3% after the company missed its earnings and revenue estimates in addition to lowering its forecast due to supply chain disruptions.
