KUWAIT, Jan. 12 (KUNA) — The Ministry of Petroleum said on Wednesday that Kuwait has adopted many sustainable development plans and programs at the national level through the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) (2040 Strategy).
This came in a speech by Director of Public Relations and Information at the Ministry of Petroleum, Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, during a virtual panel discussion organized by the ministry.
In his speech, Al-Sabah said that over the past few years, Kuwait has experienced very low levels of gas flaring thanks to the efforts of the Kuwaiti oil sector. The liquefied natural gas import project in the Al-Zour region is considered one of the most promising. projects that have contributed to the reduction of harmful emissions and open wider opportunities towards transformation into clean energy, Al-Sabah explained.
She underlined the ministry’s willingness to organize discussion panels covering all oil and economic fields in order to achieve public interest and raise public awareness about oil through specialized panels for researchers and specialists in all state ministries and institutions. (end) km.nhq
