In May, NPQ hosted a webinar focused on how to rebuild Puerto Rico’s economy in a way that would meet the needs of the community. In light of the recent citizen mobilization that overthrew the island’s governor last month, we believe the messages delivered in this webinar by leading Puerto Rican activists are more important than ever.
The webinar includes an interview with NPQ editor Cyndi Suarez of Dr. Nelson Colón of the Fundación Comunitaria de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Community Foundation), who talks about the potential for equity and an energy revolution on the island.
Following the interview, NPQ editor Steve Dubb moderates a panel that features the stories of three leading Puerto Rican expert-practitioners who, through economic policy research and advocacy, community energy activism and land ownership community, contribute to the birth of new forms of fair, democratic and communal community. based economic development.
